The Economist - The minus mindset key skill

The emergence of ChatGPT raised great expectations of significant productivity improvements. Those have been confirmed by the scientific community, for example in a study by MIT researchers, where it can be read that: "Our results show that ChatGPT substantially raised productivity: The average time taken decreased by 40% and output quality rose by 18%", https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.adh2586

However, it's worth noting that substantial productivity gains can also be achieved through straightforward methods, as elucidated in a recent article featured in The Economist. A brief excerpt from that article is presented below:
"...The best bosses are those who take things away...That means clearing time for employees to get work done...Shopify, an e-commerce firm, began the year by deleting 12,000 recurring meetings from corporate calendars, and asking everyone to think carefully before reinstating them. The company reports a rise in productivity as a result of the cull....Minus-minded managers will give employees permission not to attend if they are not needed...getting rid of work ought to be a vital part of the managers toolkit..." https://www.economist.com/business/2023/08/31/the-best-bosses-know-how-to-subtract-work
