GPT-4 Outperforming Human Analysts in Financial Predictions and the Noosphere Concept in Research Context

The link above pertains to a recent study by researchers from the University of Chicago, who analyzed data from 150,000 observations spanning several decades. They found that GPT-4 can analyze financial statements and predict company performance more accurately than human analysts. With detailed instructions, GPT-4 achieved a 60% accuracy rate, surpassing the 53% accuracy rate of human analysts.

Regarding artificial intelligence and the future, it is pertinent to recall the prediction of the well-known German expert, Jürgen Schmidhuber, a Scopus Highly Cited Scientist (h-index=77), whom I had already mentioned in a previous post, on February 2, 2020, where I took the opportunity to recall the concept of the noosphere https://arxiv.org/pdf/cs/0606081

PS - In the context of the aforementioned noosphere, which, provides a comprehensive perspective on the interconnection between the human mind, society, and the environment, it is ironic to note that there are so many researchers who have never bothered to try to understand the true context of their investigations. Whether they serve only short-term economic interests or whether they fit into a broader framework of human evolution, specifically its convergence towards singularity.
