We profoundly appreciate your generous agreement to become the VinFuture Prize Nominator, your valuable engagement in webinars and sci-tech activities during the call for nomination stage, and most notably, your important nominations submitted to the 2022 VinFuture Prize.
With great pleasure, I would like to share with you that when the 2022 VinFuture Prize Call for Nominations completed on May 17th, we received 970 nominations from more than 70 countries across 6 continents, with very high quality and reasonable distribution for all 4 prize categories. These nominations are now being reviewed by the VinFuture Pre-Screening Committee and Prize Council. The VinFuture Prize Laureates of 2022 will be announced and awarded on December 20th this year and we will keep you informed of the results.
As a new global science and technology Prize, we believe there is much we need to learn to improve our operations, to better serve you and the wider scientific community. Should there be anything we could do to further develop the sci-tech activities during the call for nominations period, and enhance the nomination submission process, please let us know.
