Still following the previous post on the recent Elsevier report about the future of research, it is worth mentioning that the review of scientific articles is mentioned more than one hundred times on it, and on page 118 one can find the results of a survey regarding the question that appears as the title of this post. The results show that 79% of researchers have responded negatively, but this figure represents a reduction compared to 2020 when the percentage of negative responses was 84%. Does this mean that a decade from now there will be a minority of researchers who thinks that articles reviewed by artificial intelligence algorithms are substandard articles ?
In any case, it is not difficult to believe that the results would be very different if the question had been: would you be willing to read scientific articles reviewed by humans who had significant help from artificial intelligence algorithms in this process?
