The recent release, on March 29, of the results of the project RenaturalNZEB, which was funded by the European Life Programme, brought bad news (because they can compromise compliance with the new and very demanding building energy performance requirements), that is, that construction with natural and recycled materials leads to significant increases in construction cost.
By a strange coincidence, on the same March 29th, an article on building retrofitting was put online on the website of the Elsevier journal Energy Economics with the interesting title "Competent rehabilitation policy and resilience to inflation: The cheapest energy is that which is not used"
The article cites a book that I edited a few years ago concerning cost-effective energy-building retrofitting https://pacheco-torgal.blogspot.com/2020/10/progress-made-by-eu-countries-towards.html However, it was not by any coincidence that, also at the end of March, Elsevier informed me that, taking into account the positive opinions of several reviewers, he had approved my proposal for the second edition of the aforementioned book.
